Lymphatics and lymphoid follicles are integral to the lung immune response and for processing antigens from the environment. This sessions will review the biology of the lymphatic and associated lymphoid follicle and immune responses in the lung, discuss how changes in these structures are associated with different disease phenotypes. The learner will better understand how lymphatics are linked to the immune response and appreciate these understudied structures in the lung.
• Learn new findings on lymphatics structure and function in the lung and how this is related to disease
• Apply knowledge on lymphatics and follicles in management of patients treated with steroids and other immune modulators
• Apply knowledge on lymphatics and follicles in management of patients who had undergone lung transplantation
